About
Medical oncologist and hematologist Maira Campos, MD completed her hematology-oncology fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and her internal medicine residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami. She attended medical school and received her Masters in Public Health at Faculdade de Medicina do ABC (ABC Foundation School of Medicine) in San Paolo, Brazil. After completing her fellowship, she worked as a clinical instructor in hematology and oncology at UCLA in their Westlake Village location. She joins Ridley-Tree Cancer Center from the St. Charles Cancer Center in Bend, Oregon where she practiced as a medical oncologist and hematologist.
Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Dr. Campos treats patients
with all types of cancer, but she holds special interests in breast,
ovarian, endometrial, lung and colon cancers. She has taught
clinical trial design to medical students, and performed research
on cancer-related fatigue.
Dr. Campos is passionate about cancer prevention and public
health. She has partnered with government organizations in Brazil
to offer medical care and health education to poor communities,
offered her time on a post-earthquake medical mission to Haiti
and donated her time to offer cervical cancer screenings to the
Haitian community in the Florida keys
